HERMITAGE OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST
In the proximities of Rasal and hidden between forest and weeds that makes difficult its location for people who don´t know the land, there is a small church of the century XI that was supposedly the parochial of an old missing town.
The nave of this hermitage has a rectangular form and it is covered with a wooded frame. The presbytery is supported on abutments. The hermitage is covered with barrel vault and the apse is sensibly canted under a furnace vault.
The adornment of the apse consists of six blind half rounds archs seated on "lesenas". On tem, a classic frieze of "baquetones" and closed by two moldings is running. In the central arch, the natural light can penetrate by a small splayed large window. |
